Mathematical skills are integral to literacy. Without the foundation of number skills, children will have difficulty performing other academic tasks. At the Number Center, the skills covered will begin with basic number names and progress through more advanced mathematical concepts. Reading skills will be reinforced in this section through the use of mathematical vocabulary.

Time Center
In this section, children will be introduced to the passage of time and to telling time. The understanding of time on an analog clock is the introduction of fractions for many children and as such, deserves special attention. The Time Center will reinforce reading and number skills.
